The basic Tajweed rules of the Quran are essential for accurate recitation. The main rules include:
- Noon Sakinah and Tanween
- Izhaar (clear pronunciation)
- Idghaam (merging sounds)
- Iqlaab (conversion of sounds)
- Ikhfaa (hiding the sound)
- Noon and Meem Mushaddad (emphasized letters)
- Meem Sakinah
- Ikhfaa Shafawi (nasalization with Meem)
Our online Tajweed classes cover all these rules in detail, helping you learn Quran online with Tajweed and apply them during recitation.
It is important to avoid major pronunciation mistakes that could change the meaning of Quranic verses. However, Tajweed is not obligatory for every Muslim, but learning the rules of Tajweed helps you recite the Quran as it was revealed. Our Tajweed lessons online are designed to help you improve your recitation, ensuring you read the Quran with respect and accuracy.
The four main principles, or pillars, of Tajweed are:
- Knowledge of the articulation points of the letters (Makharij)
- Knowledge of the characteristics of the letters (Sifaat)
- Knowledge of the rules that change due to the order of letters
- Practical application during recitation
At Al Nijah Quran Academy, our online Tajweed courses focus on these pillars, helping you learn Quran with Tajweed online and develop confidence in your recitation.
In Tajweed, Sukoon (سُكُون) is a symbol (ـْـ) placed above a letter in the Quran to indicate the absence of a vowel sound. This means the letter is pronounced without any movement, creating a pause or stillness.
Understanding sukoon is essential in Tajweed lessons online, as it helps students read the Quran with Tajweed accurately, ensuring each letter is recited correctly according to its rules. Our online Tajweed courses teach you how to identify and apply sukoon during Quran recitation, making your reading fluent and precise.
